How to Invite People to Your Events EASILY

Do you have an event or networking meeting coming up and are wondering how to fill the seats? Or maybe you’re shy inviting people to your event?

Hi, I’m Jana Hennemann the founder of We&Co, and today we will be covering how to invite people to your events EASILY.

Keep in mind, EASY doesn’t mean without effort. After applying these techniques, you’ll know how to effectively invite people to your events with a mix of traditional tactics and digital engagement.

You’re not just filling seats; you’re building a community and creating an experience they wouldn’t want to miss.

Let’s get started. Here are 6 ways to get people to show up to your events.

  1. Be a megaphone – don’t stop talking about your event. Every person you meet, send them an invite – unless they are sleazy, skeezy, or rapey.
  2. Post about it on your socials. Create your event on Facebook, LinkedIn, the chamber of commerce, alignable, eventbrite, and wherever else you can post it. Then, click the invite button and invite your contacts, friends and family!
  3. Find a couple of super connectors and ask them to invite people. If they have an influence in the professional community, ask them to join the event and tell them to invite their connections. If it is alright with them, ask if you can tag them on the events you posted up on your socials. Remember? Facebook, LinkedIn, the chamber of commerce, alignable, eventbrite, You get the idea. If they say yes – add them!
  4. Cold outreach on FB or LinkedIn:
“Hi! We haven’t met yet but I wanted to reach out. We have an event or lunch coming Fb up and I wanted to shoot you an invite. It’s next week at this time. Would you like to join us?”
I usually don’t add the venue until they reach back out and say they are interested – then I tell them where it’s at, and again state the day and time with a quick “I’ll save you a seat!”
  5. Create a reel or a story talking about this event. Excitement is contagious – that’s why all the social influencers you are addicted to are so influential. They are excited about something – even if it is something they are against, they are excited about it. Sure, I like to lean towards positivity but different strokes for different folks.
  6. We already stayed this but be a megaphone. Talk about your event with everyone you happen to meet. If you’ve already met them and told them about it, and run into them again, remind them: “hey, you going to the business mixer tomorrow? I’ll see ya there!” Or, “you coming to the business lunch on Wednesday? I’ll save you a seat!”

And there you have it – in the days and weeks before your event, follow these strategies and you will have a full house.

Be sure to follow our social channels, and thank you for tuning in!

I’m Jana Henneman with We&Co, wishing you a fun and full event!
