have you ever wondered why some people thrive in a crowd While others seem to look for the nearest exit or even better have you ever met someone that seemed to do both really easily I'm Jana Hennemann and today we're talking about extroverts introverts and Ambert and we're going to go over strengths challenges and how understanding whichever one you lean into can make your life and your business a lot easier but again you have to understand it strengths challenges Etc knowing your type helps you approach business and life situations more effectively it's not about changing who you are and your natural tendencies it's about making the most of them here's the breakdown extroverts you gain energy from being around people you are of in the life of the party and you're generally comfortable in large groups of people in fact you may even feel down or a little defeated when you're not getting that natural charge that you get from being around people the challenge is this you can often overwhelm people and come across too eager at times not everyone is ready for that level of enthusiasm and general boisterousness but you do have several strengths it's easy for you to connect with people and you are most definitely memorable in any setting introverts you prefer quieter environments and you recharge by being alone you thrive on deeper conversations and are more averse to just casual chitchat you will have a couple of very close friends while everyone else is an acquaintance when you over network with people it leaves you feeling drained and out of energy you have this need to cocoon from time to time the challenge with introverts is this people might misinterpret your quietness as being disengaged or uninterested while you like being a fly on the wall people may perceive you as being judgmental or bored your strengths you build deeper connections and you're a great listener and here's a little bonus tip for you practice asking questions most people love talking about themselves and this takes the pressure off of you needing to talk about yourself I like to play a little game when I am out at a networking event I try to meet three to five people and ask as many questions as I can without really talking about myself this might make it a little easier for you and it'll give you those deeper conversations that you so crave am reverts you have the qualities of both not only that but you can adjust to the situation you are comfortable in a crowd you can be the life of the party but you might need to recharge sometimes by being alone or sometimes being around people it just depends on the situation your challenge your unpredictability can confuse people and it can be hard for others to know what to expect from you at times you're an extrovert at other times you're an introvert and when you do need your time to recharge people might take it personally your strengths Amber vers you're adaptable and you can succeed in a variety of situations you just need to be able to take care of yourself uh spend some time on that self-care and really tune in to see what it is that you need in all cases learning to read your audience is key here mirror whoever it is that you're talking to so that you don't scare off someone or that you don't come off as indifferent me personally I wasn't always an extrovert I had to learn it at my first job being a waitress I was 16 years old just a couple of years ago and the longer I worked there the more I realized the more that I smiled the more that I asked questions the more that I engaged the bigger the tips were now that didn't mean that I didn't need to go home and recharge after a shift the key for me was learning how to read the room and make the most of my environment in summary whether you're an extrovert an introvert or an ambt understanding your strength and weaknesses can help you navigate social situations use what works for you and be strategic about it the other key here is to be authentic lean into your strengths but know how to navigate your challenges thank you for tuning in uh remember to like follow subscribe leave us a comment uh and be sure to scan the QR code at the end of this video so that you can sign up for our once a week newsletter uh again thanks for tuning in I'm Yana henan and I will see you this time next week [Music]
